New parents: Stop moaning about lost sleep and just get used to it

A new report claims that new parents lose 970 hours sleep in the first year, this sounds bad but what does sleep actually do for you?

With cosmetic companies investing billions researching creams and potions to keep us looking young do we really need sleep now we’ve got Olay Regenerist?

New mums are meant to be sleep deprived.

That way we don’t have time to worry about the fact that our homes smell of sh*t and our boobs have gone haywire.

970 hours equates to 40 days and 40 nights – I’ve wasted much longer on relationships that were going nowhere, at least this time is spent nurturing a small child that you can eventually dress up as a pumpkin and send out to fetch sweets at Halloween.

There’s really no point losing sleep over lost sleep.
