The first images of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un walking unaided since a lengthy spell out of the public eye have been released today by the state media.
The extended public absence of the North Korean leader sent the international rumour mill into overdrive, with reports suggesting everything from a military coup to broken ankles from weight gain were responsible for his disappearance.

And Kim looks in good health in photos released today by the North Korean Central News Agency (KCNA), which show him attending a meeting with Korean People’s Army (KPA) batallion commanders and political instructors on 3 and 4 November.
